World Federation of Trade Unions, International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions and GFTU in Syria organize a stand in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza
The delegation of the World Federation of Trade Unions, headed by Pambis Kyritsis, and the General Federation of Trade Unions in Syria organized a solidarity stand in Damascus with the Palestinian people and their resistance, and in rejection of the Zionist aggression on Gaza Strip.
The Secretary-General of the World Federation of Trade Unions Pambis Kyritsis said in his speech: “I affirm our absolute and permanent commitment to support the struggle of the Palestinian people until every inch of Palestine is completely liberated.”
He added that the Israeli war machine is committing the most horrific massacres in Gaza without the world taking action against it, and the occupation is depriving the people of Gaza of water, fuel, food and all the necessities of life in an attack that the world had never witnessed before.
He pointed out that the Israeli occupation continues its crimes against the Palestinian people with the support of the United States, Europe and all imperialist countries, and this aggression must be stopped immediately and the occupation must come to an end.
In turn, the Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Syria Jamal Al-Qadiri said that the brutal Zionist war machine continues to bomb the homes in Gaza Strip before the eyes of the entire world.
He stressed that the Palestinian issue will remain Syria’s first compass, and Palestine will remain in the hearts of the Syrians.
He added: “From Damascus, I say, on behalf of millions of Arab workers and of Syrian workers… We support you, beloved Palestine,” saluting the heroic Palestinian resistance that taught the enemy a lesson that will not forget.”
He explained that the resistance, through Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, launched on October 7, draws a new world that reflects the interests of peoples, eliminates occupations and thwarts the plans of the Zionist West.
He noted that the Union sent letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the League of Arab States, and the International Labor Organization about the disasters caused by the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people, especially the workers, thousands of whom were arrested, in addition to its abuse and torture of them.
