Shirt numbers were used for the first time at the 1954 FIFA World Cup™, and since then a clear pattern has emerged about the most dangerous digits.
Predictably, No9s lead the way with 255 goals, followed closely by No10s on 232.
Third-most prolific are No11s, with 201, with a gap then opening up to the 140 scored by No7s and the 133 contributed by No8s.
