World condemnation of al-Bouti’s assassination in Damascus

CAPITALS,(ST)_The UN Security Council, Russia, Iran, Arab and Syrian clergymen, expatriates, parties, and unions have decried with the strongest words assassination of the prominent scholar Dr. Mohammad Saed Ramadan al-Bouti in a terrorist blast at al-Iman Mosque in Damascus.

The UNSC condemned the terrorist explosion that caused the martyrdom of the scholar al-Bouti and other 49 citizens, SANA reported.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation described the assassination as ‘a new heinous crime perpetrated by terrorists’, noting that the extremists have not forgiven al-Bouti who called for peace, denounced terrorism and violence, and criticized ignorance of extremists about religion.

Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the crime of assassinating al-Bouti is a criminal act against religion and humanity and committed by the Syrian people’s enemies.

The Lebanese Hizbollah slammed the terrorist blast that caused martyrdom of scholar al-Bouti and dozens of citizens at the scene, calling on Syrian people to be united in confronting sedition and Takfiri thinking.

The former Lebanese President, Emil Lahhoud, stressed that what is going on in Syria is ‘terrorism’ in the full sense of the word.

Syrian communities and students in Russia, Australia, Algeria, Slovakia, Czech, France, Italy and Iran voiced deep sorrow over the martyrdom of al-Bouti, holding international and regional organizations responsibility for this crime as they turn deaf ear to those who support armed terrorist groups in Syria.

Arab parties

The Iraqi Popular Committee hit out at supporters and perpetrators of the crimes against innocent citizens in Syria, noting false slogans raised by the so called ‘ Syrian opposition’ under the title of ‘democracy and religion’.

The Bahraini Unionist Democratic National Rally said: “the US, Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are behind the assassination of the prominent scholar al-Bouti”, warning against the consequences of backing terrorists in Syria.

The Popular Front for Liberating Palestine-General Command- said that the assassination is an evidence of sedition’s destructive goals that aim at destroying the social and mental structure of Syrian society.

Central Committee at Feteh Movement (Intifada) underlined its support for Syria that defends its national rights, saying that the assassination of al-Bouti is a big lose for Islamic nation.

Jordanian reporters and national forces appealed to the Syrian Arab Army not to be merciful towards enemies of Syria and nation.

Locally

The People’s Assembly (PA) cited that the crime seeks to spread Takfiri thinking and silence the voice of right.

The cabinet said that coward act committed by sinners will not pass without punishment.

The Baath Arab Socialist Party underscored that the Syrian people will go ahead with combating terrorism to clean the country from all terrorists and their supporters.   

All Syrian opposition parties also condemned the crime, saying that the scholar al-Bouti paid the price for his national stances and his addresses to surpass the crisis.

Higher Education Ministry and Damascus University said that the terrorist bomb reflects barbarity and rancor of perpetrators and proves bankruptcy of hostile parties.

Syria’s Grand Mufti said that Islam doesn’t die and Syria will never bow down, adding that the late scholar al-Bouti has called only for peace and dialogue.

Awqaf Minister, for his part, said that Syria will never forget the scholar al-Bouti.

Sheikh Aql Duze , and Muslim and Christian clergymen highly praised the late al-Bouti’s deeds and calls for peace.

On Thursday, a terrorist blew up himself during a religious lesson inside al-Iman Mosque in al Mazraa area in Damascus causing martyrdom of al-Bouti and other 49 students. As many as 84 other citizens were also injured in the blast.
