World Children’s Day Celebrated in Homs

 

As children are the backbone of society and the joy of life and marking the World Children’s Day, (Steadfast Despite Wounds) Association in Homs has recently held  an entertainment artistic celebration for the children of our brave wounded .

Celebrators stressed that there is no doubt that our children now are the youth of tomorrow and the future of the country, who are making the civilization of the nation and forming its protective shield against dangers.

They referred that  World Children’s Day offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote children’s rights, translating them into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children.

Two awareness-raising plays were presented during the celebration. The first one to raise awareness of the mothers and to talk about raising the children’s awareness and the second is titled “I have the right to learn”.

After the performance  some questions were asked to the children to evaluate what they had learned from the plays.

 The ceremony included games, songs and competitions for the participating children.

There was also a special show for the Happy Magic Band, where the world magician Siler presented magnificent and wonderful performances that creating a dear smile on the faces of the children.

Some gifts were offered for children from the cooperative association of ready-made clothes (Basmat Watan).

It is worth mentioning that United Nations World Children’s Day was established in 1954 and is celebrated on November 20th each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and to improve children’s welfare..

Children are taking over and turning the world blue” – this is the theme of the World Children’s Day, 2018 as announced by the United Nations.
