DAMASCUS, (ST)- Work has started for laying the foundation of the first complex that get construction license in the Marota City project in Mazzeh area in Damascus.
Kamal al-Shammat, the executive engineer, said that the building will consist of 12 flats that include 83 housing apartments of different areas starting from 150 to 300 square meters. The ground flat will be dedicated for children games, a meeting hall and three service offices.
The total area of Marota City is 214 hectares to be extended in Kfar Souseh and Mazzeh area. It includes 186 housing towers of 11-22 flats and 33 investment complex.
More than 80 percent of the infrastructure of Marota City has been accomplished.
Marota City is a new construction project that was launched by the Syrian government in Damascus in 2012. This project is presented as part of a more modern plan for urban development to move away from the traditional patterns of housing.
