Damascus (ST): More than 366 wonders from the wonders of the world were presented by the Syrian General Book Authority in a newly translated edition written by Andre Bertino and translated by Hammam Hassan Zina.
The book, which won third place in the Sami Al-Droubi Award for Translation, is 512 pages of medium size and reviews the ancient and modern wonders of the world, whether man-made or natural.
The book also narrates the stories of peoples and their civilizations, and the most prominent of what he mentioned is the story of the Great Wall of China, Tutankhamun in Egypt, and the Tower Bridge in London.
Through his attractive style, the translator takes the reader on a journey to the great peaks of Africa, the Kingdom of the Panda, the Great Reef in Australia, the fictional Disneyland, the Volga, the longest river in Europe, the Gala Pacos Islands in Colombia, and the amazing Venice, to live a reading experience that combines pleasure and benefit.
The book was also accompanied by illustrations representing each marvel so that the information would be combined with a mental image that would give the reader an integrated vision of the enchanting world of marvels.
