Within the activities of the first Russian-Syrian Health Conference, the signing of a cooperation agreement between Damascus and Moscow State Universities

Damascus University and the First Sechenov State University in Moscow signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in the fields of scientific research, on the sidelines of the first Russian-Syrian International Conference on Health “Avicenna Methods”, which was launched earlier today.

The agreement includes the exchange of medical expertise and the provision of scholarships for Syrian students to study at the Russian Sechenov University.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, and the Rector of Sechenov University, Pyotr Glybochko, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, and the Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko.

Following the signing of the agreement, Minister of Higher Education Ibrahim said: The first Russian-Syrian conference “Avicenna Methods” is of special importance, and is the culmination and development of scientific cooperation and research relations between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science in addition to the Ministry of Health in the Russian Federation. .

Minister Ibrahim indicated that the upcoming second international conference will be held in Damascus next April, stressing that relations between Syria and Russia are developing from better to better under the support of the Syrian and Russian leaderships.

In turn, the Russian Minister of Health said: “We talked about developing and strengthening relations in the field of health and medical higher education, and we agreed to follow up on joint cooperation between the two friendly countries in order to exchange experiences to improve the health situation in Syria.”

Murashko indicated that there is a great demand for the treatment of cancer and malignant tumors because Russia has great capabilities to treat these diseases, and also produces large quantities of various medicines and medical drugs to treat various bacterial diseases.
