Sweida (ST): The “Basmat Watan” (Smile of the Homeland) Charitable Volunteer Group in the city of Shahba, Sweida, organized an initiative entitled “A Pen and Hope,” as the new academic year has started.
As stated by the group’s official, Rania Salha, in a statement to news correspondent, the initiative included the distribution of bags containing notebooks, pens, food containers, and water bottles, in addition to school uniforms and clothing for about 135 students, according to their needs from the basic education stage and to children from families who do not have breadwinners in the city of Shahba and a number of villages in the governorate.
Salha pointed out that this initiative came with the support of civil society activists and expatriates in the city of Shahba, based on the importance of solidarity and cooperation among members of society.
