With the participation of Syria, the start of the Leaders’ Day business sessions at the Education Transformation Summit in New York
With the participation of Syria, the sessions of the third day of the Education Transformation Summit began in New York, held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, entitled “Leaders’ Day”.
Participants from world leaders and delegations will discuss statements of national commitment to the Education Transformation Summit, where the day is devoted to presenting national commitment statements by heads of state and government in the form of leaders’ round tables.
A limited number of sessions will also be held to focus on cross-cutting priorities for education transformation, and the Leaders Day will feature the presentation of the Youth Summit Declaration and the Secretary-General’s vision statement for education transformation.
The Syrian delegation was headed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa and included Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, the Secretary of the National Committee for UNESCO, Dr. Nidal Hassan, and the Director of Planning and International Cooperation Ghassan Shgari, in addition to a youth delegation that included the CEO of the Syrian Trust for Development Shadi Al-Ashi and the Chairperson of the National Union of Syrian Students Dareen Suleiman, Chairman of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Somer Daher, and the Chairman of the Baath Vanguards Organization, Dr. Muhammad Ezzat Arabi Katbi.
