With the participation of Syria, the seventh Arab Water Week Conference starts in Jordan

With the participation of Syria, the seventh Arab Water Week started in Jordan, under the slogan “Towards Efficiency and Sustainability in Utilities through the interconnection of Water, Energy, Environment and Food”, to address the challenges in the water sector and the importance of integrating resources to achieve water security.

In a speech during the conference, the head of the Syrian delegation, Assistant Minister of Energy for Water Affairs, Engineer Osama Abu Zeid, stressed the importance of integrating resources in light of climate change, expressing Syria’s aspiration to strengthen technical cooperation with the participating countries.

The Syrian delegation also participated in the opening sessions and technical events, where ideas and experiences on regional and local challenges were exchanged.

The conference is organized by the Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA), in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Arab Ministerial Council for Water, and the League of Arab States, at the King Hussein bin Talal Conference Center.
