With the participation of Syria, the meeting of the heads of Arab scout federations and organizations concludes in Cairo
The participants in the meeting of the heads of Arab scout federations and organizations recommended setting a work program on the activities to be carried out by scout associations next year.
The Arab Scout Center in Cairo organized the two-day meeting which concluded on March 5th.
The participants encouraged Arab youth to participate in scout movements and continuous cooperation to preserve the unity of Arab action.
The participants called for launching youth programs to empower young people and expand their participation in decision-making, in addition to forming an Arab Scout Committee to visit Lebanon and discuss the possibility of hosting the 30th Arab Scout Conference during 2023.
The head of the Syrian Scouts, Elias Chahoud, said that the Syrian delegation discussed the work program of the joint Arab activities, as each party presented its work programs and the difficulties it faces.
Chahoud noted that the countries participating in the meeting welcomed the youth scouting activities with developmental dimensions to be held by the Syrian Scouts in the coming period.
Chahoud pointed out that participation in the meeting is evidence of Syria’s recovery and its continued participation in Arab and international forums.
Chahoud said that the Syrian delegation participated a few days ago in the celebration of the 110th anniversary of the launch of the scout movement in Lebanon, which was established by the Lebanese Scouts Federation and the Lebanese National Scout Conference, which was held in Beirut during the 26th The 28th of last month.
A member of the Supreme Executive Committee of the Syrian Scouts and a member of the participating Syrian delegation, Ali al-Abbas pointed out the need to increase the representation of young people in the Arab Scouts and give them the greatest role to be active leaders in the Scout work at the Arab and national levels in their countries.
Abbas said that Syria is working to represent young people in various aspects of scout work and others to employ youth skills and capabilities in serving their community and building their country.
