With the participation of Syria, the International Film Festival against Terrorism kicks off in Iraq
Baghdad, (ST) – The official competition of the International Film Festival Against Terrorism kicked off in the Iraqi city of Erbil, with the participation of Syria, represented by the short feature film “Photograph” by film Director, Muhannad Kulthum.
The film, produced by the General Film Establishment, competes with 42 feature and documentary films in the festival, which is considered the largest cinematic event in Iraq and is held under the title “With Reconstruction We Defeat Terrorism.”
The festival is an opportunity for youth to present their films, which in turn address this serious and painful issue (Terrorism). It will award its competition prizes for the best short fiction and documentary film, the best drama film, the best screenplay, best directing and performance, in addition to the jury prizes and the festival prize.
The events of the feature film “Photograph” revolve around the effects of the war on Syria and its aftermath on the Syrian child and the employment that is imposed on them in order to support their families with financial support. The price of this matter of course is abandoning their educational rights. The film reflected the impact they were exposed to after the war, the repercussions of the crisis, and the human struggle for survival
