With the participation of Syria… St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum concludes 

The ninth St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum entitled  “United Cultures Forum” concluded its activities  with the participation of Syria and forty Arab and foreign countries.

In her speech at the plenary session of the Ministers of Culture, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Loubana Mouchaweh , stressed the importance of cultural sovereignty in the face of all forms of domination  and abolition, calling  on all  intellectuals and participants to unite in confronting  the crimes  against  the Palestinian people.

In a dedicated session, the Director General of Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums  DGAM  Mohammed Nazir Awad, gave a presentation on the reality of Syrian museums and the work carried out by the  DGAM concerning  the restoration, documentation and returning back  of contraband.

At the grand amphitheater of the St. Petersburg Museum  before  thousands of attendees, a documentary film on  the restoration of the Arc de Triomphe in Palmyra was screened with the participation of Russian experts.

On the other hand, the Minister of Culture met with her Russian counterpart Olga Lyubimova and discussed with her the details of the implementation  of the cooperation  agreement signed between Syria and Russia.

The Minister of Culture also met with Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, head of the Organization of  Culture and Islamic Relations in Iran, and discussed aspects of cultural cooperation in confronting the crimes of the Zionists.

The Syrian delegation met with the director of the Hermitage Museum, Russian Professor Mikhail Petrovsky and  discussed  the importance of accelerating the signing of the joint cooperation agreement between the two sides.
