With the participation of Syria St. Petersburg International Economic Forum kicks off

Moscow (ST) – The activities of 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum kicked off this morning with the participation of the Syrian delegation headed by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Kinan Yaghi.

The Syrian delegation comprises the Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, and the Honorary Consul in Petersburg, Dr. Malath Ghazi.

The conference will continue until the 17th of June with the participation of heads of states and government, ministers, ambassadors, officials, presidents and representatives of major Russian and international companies. Russian President Vladimir Putin will deliver a speech before the forum next Friday at the conclusion of its work.

Russian sources announced that more than 17 thousand people from 130 countries and continents have affirmed their participation in the forum, while the United Arab Emirates is participating as a guest of honor.

Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Organizing Body of the Forum, Anton Kobyakov, declared that the Petersburg forum is of great importance, given the current turmoil in the global economy and the ongoing changes in the international economic unions.

He stressed that the forum constitutes the only space for trust and equal opportunities for all components of economic activity in the world.

It is noteworthy that The St. Petersburg Forum was established in 1997, and it is held annually, and since 2005 it has been held under the auspices and participation of the President of the Russian Federation. The forum is considered as one of the most extensive and important economic events in the world.
