With the participation of more than a hundred owners of micro, small and medium-sized productive projects from various governorates, the activities of the shopping festival “From the Blesdings of My Country, organized by the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development Authority in cooperation with the Homs Chamber of Commerce, were launched today.

The festival, which is held on the grounds of the Exhibition City in Al-Waer neighborhood in Homs city, includes a variety of food and consumer products for project owners registered with the Authority, in addition to a popular market for products from the southern region. The event is also characterized by satisfactory discounts for people with limited income, especially on school uniforms, according to those in charge of the activity.

Following the opening, the Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, Dr. Thuraya Idlebi, indicated in a statement to the media that the focus of the festival was on small and micro projects to be an opportunity to introduce and market their products, noting that the Authority provides various forms of support, including training and consulting, in addition to economic feasibility studies for their projects and holding exhibitions and festivals and participating in them to market their various products.

In turn, the head of Homs Chamber of Commerce, Iyad Al-Sibai, pointed to the cooperation between the Authority and the Chamber to support owners of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from various governorates and to display their diverse production of clothing, detergents, accessories and others at competitive prices for the market. He noted the role of the Chamber in networking with the Authority to enter the project owners strongly into the local and export market with the possibility of expanding most projects and monitoring many of them and keeping up with the necessary support for their owners.

The participants in the exhibition have distinguished success stories that embody the will of the Syrians to overcome the difficult living conditions, which may seem difficult to some to start a project, but it is not impossible, as confirmed by Mrs. Nada Al-Mir, the owner of a project to produce handicrafts, as she started ten years ago to produce roses from various fabrics in addition to embroidery and other artworks so as to benefit from environmental waste in producing artistic works, souvenirs and gifts for various occasions.

The festival continues until the 22nd of this month.
