With the participation of more than 360 specialized companies, (Made in Syria) clothing and textile exhibition opened
Damascus (ST): Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, inaugurated the activities of Made in Syria Specialized Exhibition for Clothes and Textile, which is being held in the Damascus Fairs City and jointly organized by the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry and Trade and the Association of Syrian Exporters of Clothes and Textiles and will continue until the 14th of February.
More than 360 companies specializing in men’s and boy’s clothing, lingerie, women’s clothing, socks, cotton, fabrics and production requirements, in addition to shipping companies from different governorates, are participating in the exhibition, distributed among five main stands and spanning an area of 15,500 square meters.
In a statement to reporters, Prime Minister greeted every Syrian industrialist, every worker, and everyone who contributed to the development of local production and the return of the industry to prosperity and development, referring to the governmental efforts made to support and develop this industry, whose positive impact we note through this exhibition.
Eng. Arnous pointed out that more than 360 companies specialized in textile garments of all kinds participated in the event and the presence of more than a thousand visitors who came to buy Syrian textile products and who expressed their admiration and appreciation for these products, their quality, prices and competitiveness.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government stands by the merchants and industrialists in a way that facilitates the export process, pointing out that what distinguishes this exhibition is that all products starting from the thread through their manufacture, embroidery, design, and all its details are from the Syrian industry, and this is something we cherish as Syrians.
For his part, Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh referred to what the Syrian industrialists presented during this stage and sought with all their strength and effort to restore the glow of the Syrian industry, considering that this exhibition will be a starting point for more advanced exhibitions and Syria will return to its position on the map of the global economy, from which it did not get out despite all the attempts made by the enemies of the homeland to get it off the global economic map.
In turn, head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Engineer Faris Al-Shehabi, referred to the importance of the exhibition to market Syrian products in foreign markets by inviting a thousand merchants from Arab countries, especially from Iraq and Jordan, in addition to helping small manufacturers whose facilities were sabotaged to export their products.
Head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mohammad Abu Al-Huda Al-Lahham confirmed that the Syrian textile products participating in the exhibition from the Syrian governorates are distinguished in their quality, and all the products presented are Syrian production, indicating that overcoming industry difficulties such as unfair penalties, the process of shipping goods and methods of transferring their price makes the export process easy and encourages an increase in production and exports in the next stage.
