With the participation of millions of Iranians … the funeral of Martyr Soleimani and his companions begins in Tehran
On January 6, with the participation of millions of people from Tehran, the funeral procession of the corpses of the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, and their companions began.
The crowds chanted slogans condemning the United States and its crime and expressing grief at the martyrdom of Soleimani, Al-Muhandis, and their companions.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei headed the funeral prayer at the University of Tehran. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Shura Council (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani, and a number of Iranian officials participated in the funeral prayer.
The bodies of the martyrs will later be transported to the city of Qom, where there will also be a funeral.
On January 5, the bodies of the martyrs arrived in Tehran on a plane coming from the city of Mashhad where millions of Iranians participated in the funeral.
