With the participation of 25 Trading Companies “Ramadan Al Khair Market”, Kicks off in Tartus

Ramadan al-Khair Market activities started in Tartus today with the participation of 25 commercial and industrial entities from all Syrian governorates. It will run from the 3rd to the 14th of March at the Syrian Trade Complex.

Abdelwahab Safar, Supervisor of the Ministry of Internal Commerce and Consumer Protection of Tartus confirmed that the market is part of a series of activities being conducted by the Ministry of Internal Commerce for the consumer benefit. “We therefore stressed that the cost of the merchant’s participation should be zero in cooperation with the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Syrian Trade. So that the merchant is able to sell his products at 20-30 percent less than the market price, thus the goal is to sell at cost price to the consumer.” He said.
He stressed that the ministry is working to change the stereotype of merchants exploiting consumers, and that food control will be imposed in the market and outside it, and the real price and the discounted price will be displayed.
Secretary of the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kifah Qaddour, confirmed that the market provides goods from the producer to the consumer at great discounts in this holy month. Cooperation was made with the Ministry of Internal Trade to establish the market so that the producer can sell at zero cost and the citizen can feel a real difference in prices.
The participating companies indicated that the discounts reached between 20-30 percent of the wholesale price in the markets in addition to many offers for all materials, noting that the companies came from several governorates in addition to Tartous.
