With Syria’s participation, the summit-level meeting of the Arab League begins today in Manama

Damascus- (ST)- With Syria’s participation, the work of the summit-level meeting of the Arab League Council in its thirty-third session  begins today  in the presence of a number of leaders, presidents, kings and princes of Arab countries and heads of participating delegations.

According to the Arab League, the summit will discuss many political, development, security, economic, social and cultural issues that were included in the draft agenda prepared by Arab foreign ministers .

On the twelfth of this month, a meeting of the Economic and Social Council was held at the ministerial level in preparation for the work of the Arab Summit, where the emergency response plan to deal with the economic and social repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip was discussed.

There was also a discussion of the completion of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area  and the establishment of the Arab customs union.
