Al-Hasakah-(ST)- The final quantity produced from winter vegetable crops grown in Al-Hasakah Governorate for the current season amounted to 26,784 tons, which were marketed in the governorate’s markets.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Engineer Jalal Bilal, stated in a statement to SANA’s correspondent that the governorate’s farmers plant thirteen varieties of winter vegetables, the production of which this year was good and in accordance with the established agricultural sub-plan, which led to the provision of these foodstuffs, securing them for the people, and keeping their prices relatively stable.
Bilal pointed out that farmers will begin implementing the agricultural plan for the summer vegetable season and planting specific varieties in various areas of agricultural stability where water sources are available to secure the people’s need for these vegetables during the summer and fall seasons.
According to statistics from the Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Hasakah Governorate, the planted area with winter vegetable crops reached 4,269 hectares.
