With international participation, the torch of the Homeland’s “Wounded” Games is lit for the third year in a row

Competitions for the Third “The Wounded of The Homeland” International Games, held by “The Wounded of The Homeland” Project in cooperation with the General Sports Federation and MTN and Syriate lwill be launched today in Tishreen and Al-Fayhaa stadiums in Damascus, and will continue until the sixth of this month.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held this evening in the Tishreen Gym with the participation of 173 athletes, and the Paralympic torch will be lit, announcing the start of the third National “Wounded” Games.

In addition to the Syrian national team for special sports, the teams of Iraq, Russia, Iran, and Indonesia will participate in the tournament to compete in swimming, physical strength, athletics, badminton, table tennis, and basketball.

The nation’s “The Wounded” participating in the tournament in its new edition are seeking to write a new chapter in the history of their sporting achievements that they began since their integration into the Syrian national team for special sports two years ago, as the team currently includes 92 wounded professionals who passed the sports evaluations conducted by the technical committee for special sports according to international standards and classifications.

In the first and second Homeland Games of The Wounded showed athletic development, the impact of which was evident in strengthening their physical and health capabilities, raising the level of their sporting ambitions, and their active presence in the international stadiums that they entered and where they reached the podiums, carrying Syria in their hearts so as to achieve glory.
