Winners of the Dar Tutul Novel Competition Honored at the Arab Writers Union

Under the supervision of the Arab Writers Union, “Tutul Publishers” (Tutol Dar) honored the winners of the novel competition launched at the level of the Arab world. The competition included national and humanitarian topics in the face of terrorism. The honoring ceremony took place at the offices of the Arab Writers Union.

Chairman of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, stressed that following up on these competitions is necessary when such activities are directed in a national direction and there is correct follow-up through the arbitration committees, and this is what happened in this competition.

The director of “Dar Tutul”: Tutul Publishers pointed out his commitment to the integrity of the award and his keenness on topics that serve the national cultural and humanitarian cause, especially since the competition has been launched at the level of the Arab world.

The head of the competition committee, the novelist Muhammad Al-Hafri, said: The levels of participation varied, and the winning novels had the ability to reach the results.

The first winner, Tawfiqa Khaddour, explained that she expected to win because she fully understands what she said about love and war and the victory of love in the outcome.

During the event, a film was screened entitled Wedding Butterfly, by writer Imad Nadaf and directed by Hisham Pharaon, about the life of the late writer Suhail El-Deeb, one of the founders of the Tutul Prize. The film casts light on the literary, social and humanitarian aspects of the life of the late writer El-Deeb and his relationship with friends.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Dr. Muhammad Amer Al-Mardini, who stated that in light of the cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Arab Writers Union, culture must be fully embodied as culture is the most important in the life of society because culture expresses its personality and its situation on global scales.

Writer Faten Derki, who managed the event, introduced the winners and their literary productions and spoke about the importance of the competition in activating the cultural movement.
