Winners in the competitions of the Syrian Science Olympiad 2024 honored during a ceremony on Saturday at the Damascus Opera House. The winners will join the national teams of the Olympiad in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics.
The gold medals went to winners of places 1 to 3, silver medals went to winners of places 4 to 8, and bronze medals went to winners of places 9 to 15, while certificates of appreciation were distributed to the rest of the participants from outside the teams, according to the estimates by the scientific committees.
Winners of gold medals in mathematics are students Sarah Imad Nashed and Muhammad Dia Darar Srouji from Aleppo, and Milad Fadi Abbas from Latakia.
In physics, the winners are Wajih Ali Hadba, Muhammad Badi Bishr Deeb from Latakia, and Karim Haysam Abu Saeed from Sweida.
In chemistry, gold medals went to Jad Ahmed from Hama, Lilian Bassam Haji Mahmoud and Wahid Adel Kanjo from Latakia, Mayar Talal Qatini from Aleppo, and Elio Al-Bir Al-Mashriqi from Homs.
Gold medals in biology went to the students Taim Abdul Sami Hanano from Damascus, Nasrallah Wasim al-Akhras from Latakia, and Lilas Yasser Muhammad from Tartous.
In informatics, the gold medals went to the students Muhammad Orkhan Sami Dabbagh from Hasakah, Abdul Rahman Mahmoud Saqr from Damascus, and Ahmed Abdul Razzaq Hajouz from Latakia, and Ahmed Mahmoud Hamwi from Aleppo.
