The Distinction and Creativity Agency on Saturday held a ceremony at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus to honor the winners in the competitions of the Syrian Science Olympiad 2023 in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics.
The gold medals went to positions from 1 to 3, while the silver medals went to positions from 4 to 8 and the bronze medals winners of positions from 9-15. Many of the students were also given appreciation certificates for their performance.
The gold medals in mathematics were obtained by students Mahmoud Mohammad Barbisht and Mahmoud Muhannad Asad from Aleppo, as well as Aziz Thaer Hanna from Homs. In physics, the gold medals went to the students Abdul Hadi Shamashman from Damascus Countryside, Massa Firas Sawwan from Aleppo and Sali Qais Hussein from Homs.
In chemistry, the gold medals went to the students, Ibrahim Midyan Khazem from Lattakia, Zeinab Hasan Rangous from Damascus and Omar Adel Al-Barouki from Homs, while in biology the gold went to students Zein Wael Azar Al-Zaher from Damascus Countryside, Rouni Mohammad Bairam from Aleppo and Abdullah Ibrahim from Damascus.
In Informatics, the students Karim Kamal Yusuf from Tartous, Bisher Amar Joukhadar from Damascus, Mohammad Deib Ahmad Saleh from Lattakia and Anas Mohammad Abi Al-Futuh from Damascus also won gold medals.
The competitions concluded on Friday with the participation of 281 students from different Syrian provinces.
