Wife of Serbian President visits the Syrian Embassy in Belgrade to offer condolences over earthquake victims  

Tamara Vučić, the wife of the Serbian President, on Saturday visited the Syrian Embassy in Belgrade to express her country’s solidarity with Syria in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that hit the country recently.

In a note she wrote in the condolence book, Vučić expressed her deep sadness over the human losses in Syria, voicing solidarity with the families of the victims and the injured.

During the visit, Vučić presented some medical equipment and devices as well as medicines with the aim of sending them to Syria to assist the people affected by the earthquake in coordination between the Serbian government and the Syrian Embassy in Belgrade.

Earlier in the day, the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic offered her condolences at the Syrian embassy in Belgrade.

In her note in the condolence book, she expressed her solidarity with the Syrian government and people over this ordeal.

During her meeting with the Syrian Ambassador in Belgrade Bassem Jamaan Agha, Brnabic stressed her country’s support for Syria in the face of the repercussions of this disaster, noting coordination at the highest level in Serbia to send a shipment of aid to Syria.

Meantime, the Japanese Minister of State for Disaster Management and Ocean Policy Tani Koichi offered condolences at the Syrian Embassy in Tokyo over Syria earthquake victims.

In a note in the condolence book, Koichi expressed sadness over the catastrophe that hit Syria.

He also met with the Syrian Charge d’ Affairs in Tokyo Mohammed Najib Elji and discussed with him the devastating impacts of the earthquake and means of assisting Syria in the face of the repercussion of this disaster, noting Japan’s experience in dealing with such catastrophes.
