The markets of Homs city are witnessing active movement as the Eid Al-Fitr holiday approaches, with a wide and diverse range of goods available to meet the needs and requirements of families at reasonable prices that suit all social segments.
Several citizens and shop owners in the markets expressed their satisfaction over the availability of Eid supplies and their acceptable prices.
Abu Ahmad, an elder who came to do shopping to get some Eid necessities, confirmed that all the materials needed by families are available, wide and diverse and their prices are significantly acceptable compared to previous years.
Meanwhile, Abu Abdul Salam, a citizen who returned to his city, Homs, from Idlib after yeras of absence due to forced displacement, noted that prices are continuously decreasing, and all consumer goods, especially Eid necessities, are abundantly available.
For his part, Tarek Abu Al-Zein, a clothing store owner, noted the unprecedented turnout in the markets and commercial stores before the holiday of Eid Al-Fitr attributing this to the availability of clothing suitable for all segments at noticeably lower prices.
Regarding the role of consumer protection, Wael Barghoul, the Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Homs, stated to SANA that inspection patrols have intensified their tours in markets and commercial shops, especially those selling Eid supplies such as sweets, clothing, and food items.
