MOSCOW, (ST)-The International Exhibition for Food Industries was opened recently in Moscow with the participation of more than 1600 food and agricultural industries from 73 countries in the world, including Syrian companies.
The exhibition aims to search for sources to provide agricultural products and food industries, especially that the reality of the Russian food market put today new tasks in front of the agricultural sector in the light of the provision of alternatives for foodstuffs previously imported from Europe. The volume of Russian import of food is over $ 45 billion annually, indicating the growing interest in international companies in this market.
Director of Business Development at al –Hamwi company Bassel al Fayoumi said in a statement to local press that “Our company offers all kinds of coffee products and various articles”, pointing out that his company’s participation in this exhibition is supported by the government that is represented by the Development and Promotion of Syrian Exports Agency which facilitated our participation in the exhibition along with seven other Syrian companies.
Mr. al -Fayoumi hoped that the Syrian goods meets a huge demand in the Russian market, especially that Syrian bodies have good relations with the organizer of the exhibition that contributed to the reception of Syrian companies in a good way, calling to strengthen the relationship with the Russian market and the surrounding markets of Russia.
Director of Export at Addurra Company for Food Industries Khaled Khamis pointed in a similar statement saying that “Our participation in this exhibition comes to open new markets and to study the Russian market as an important one for Syria,” noting that the company has spread in eighty percent of the world. The company has begun its work since 1979 with the aim of distributing its products of Syrian origin and the definition of the consumer to the products of Syrian origin.
Director of Marketing at Frousty Company Anass al –Lahham confirmed that the aim of the participation in this exhibition is the spread of Syrian products more and more in European markets from the Russian market and with this participation, we represent the output of the Syrian products on the best form, noting the efforts exerted by the Syrian Federation of Exporters and the Syrian government to make the process of marketing the Syrian products a success.
Firas Hassan, from Frosty company said that our presence at the exhibition came to confirm that Syria is able to enter all the markets of the world and said “we will enter into all markets despite the difficult circumstances faced by the country and will overcome all these circumstances.”
Director of Mackie Food Industries Ahmad Khattab noted the efforts and support provided by the Development and Promotion of Syrian Exports Agency to the Syrian traders in cooperation with the Federation of Syrian Exporters and the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, saying that the Russian market is a promising market.
For his part, the representative of the Near East Company registered in Hama since 2001(the company is specialized in exporting olive oil to Arab and European countries) said that the participation in the exhibition is very important because the Russian market is the first for us.
Mr. Mahmoud Ezein Khabbaz, representative of the company Mr. Khabbaz for Food industries said that our participation in this exhibition, “offers a golden opportunity for us because of the close relationships linking Syria with Russia and we will work to bridge the gap occurring in the Russian market as a result of sanctions imposed on it and it will be an incentive to serve the Russian market and Syria through the discharge of our products.”
Mr. Ezein Khabbaz said that Syrian businessmen will work to provide strategic support to the Syrian Market in the long term through the establishment of a Syrian mall covers all sectors of the food and textile, chemical and engineering in Moscow aimed at supporting any product or factory Syrian to be able to deliver its products to the Russian market constantly.
