Wide participation in information and communication technology exhibition (Syria High-Tech)

With the participation of 340 local, Arab and foreign companies specialized in the field of communications and informatics, the activities of the seventh session of the Information and Communications Technology Exhibition “Syria High-Tech” were launched on the fairgrounds of Damascus on Monday.

 

The exhibition, which continues until the 18th of this month, aims to revitalize the information and communications sector and digital transformation in Syria and to provide an opportunity for technology and software makers, suppliers of computers and accessories, and workers in communications systems and equipment to display their products and services and the latest technology in this field.

The Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, said in a statement to reporters that the exhibition in its current session is witnessing qualitative and distinguished participation in the field of informatics in terms of the quality, number of participating companies and the spaces allocated for it. He pointed out that the exhibition is an opportunity to be briefed on the equipment and expertise of participating and friendly countries and local national shareholding companies operating within the scope of communications, the internet, information technology and sharing information with them.

With regard to electronic payment, the Minister indicated that the number of daily electronic payment operations will increase at the end of this month after linking with the Syrian Company for Electronic Payments. It is expected to achieve a great leap.

For his part, Iranian Ambassador to Syria Dr. Mahdi Sobhani indicated that 21 specialized Iranian companies from all fields of information and communications are participating in the exhibition, stressing his country’s support for the Syrian people in the reconstruction phase and its determination to have a prominent role in economic development.

Director General of the Arab Group for Exhibitions and Conferences Alaa Helal  pointed out that those who were invited were people  involved in the information and communications sector  . This in turn will  offer a set of solutions for state institutions, ministries and government agencies that are related to the digital transformation project through the creation of local software solutions and applications that facilitate the linkages between the product owner, the consumer and the service requester.

From Syriatel, the media coordinator Haiya Safadi confirmed the company’s keenness to support the  technology and communications sector and to provide what serves the interests of its customers and meets their needs with the highest quality through its offers and services. She noted that the company offers, within its pavilion, the electronic payment service “Syriatel Cash”, which enables customers to control their payments easily, quickly and securely through their cellular devices.
