Why is this Eid sweeter for Syrians?

Liberating the homeland from a tyrannical regime that practiced injustice, oppression and murder for more than five decades made the joy of this Eid the most beautiful.

Returning to one’s homeland and celebrating Eid al-Fitr with family and friends has become possible, especially after liberation from the former regime, which had torn families apart and deprived them of family gatherings.

When you ask any expatriate who has lived abroad for years about their homeland, they will tell you with overwhelming joy that this year’s Eid has a special flavor. Firstly, because it is infused with the taste of victory over the former tyranny. Secondly, because expatriates can now celebrate Eid al-Fitr, having been able to return to their homeland following their liberation from the deposed regime. Social relations have begun to be re-established between family and friends after years of separation due to the division and strife imposed by the former regime. This Eid, our joy at victory and the arrival of Eid al-Fitr is greater than any other, as it is the first Eid after liberation, bringing together those who have been separated for many years.
