WHO warns of a real danger threatening the world due to Corona

Geneva (ST): The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Ghebreyesus, warned of a real danger to humanity due to the spread of Corona virus infection, despite the success of vaccinations. 

Ghebreyesus said in a statement published on the Organization’s website: “We have made great progress in developing vaccines in record time, but the world is in real danger.”

Ghebreyesus explained that the increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 disease resulting from the Corona outbreak is an indication that people are no longer complying with the preventive restrictions imposed, that health systems are operating inconsistently and the vaccination rate is uneven. 

For months, the Organization has reiterated that the best way to combat the pandemic is to urgently distribute vaccines around the world, which is still far from being achieved.
