WHO: The northern Gaza Strip is now without hospitals

Geneva, (ST) – The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that the northern Gaza Strip is without hospitals capable of operating in light of the lack of fuel, medical staff, and health supplies.

Reuters quoted the representative of the World Health Organization in Gaza, Richard Peppercorn, as saying to reporters: Al-Ahli Hospital was the last one able to operate, but it is now operating at its minimum due to the lack of the necessary capabilities to operate it.

The Palestinian Red Crescent warned that more than 800,000 Palestinians in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip are deprived of medical services.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to target hospitals and health centers, preventing the entry of medical aid and the fuel needed to operate these hospitals, which has led to the death of hundreds of patients and wounded due to the lack of facilities to treat them.
