WHO condemns Israeli attack on Lebanese Civil Defense Center in Baalbek

Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) , Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, condemned the Israeli attack on the Civil Defense Center in Lebanon, which led to the martyrdom of 13 paramedics, including the head of the center.

“We condemn the attack on the Lebanese Civil Defense Center in the village of Douris in the Baalbek region,” Ghebreyesus said in a post today on his X platform page, stressing the need to stop Israeli attacks on health facilities.

Death toll from the Israeli onslaught on Lebanon has surged to 3,445 dead and 14,599 wounded, while number of paramedic victims since the beginning of the Israeli aggression has reached 208 killed and 311 injured, The Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon said.

The Israeli enemy and its warplanes continue to escalate their air attacks on Lebanese cities and towns since September 23.
