WHO Chief: The world cannot stand silent while the hospitalities of Gaza are turned into scenes of death and destruction

Director of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called for an immediate stop of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, noting that the world cannot stand silent while hospitals turn into scenes of death, destruction and despair.

Ghebreyesus said in his account on the X platform: “The situation at Al Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza is dangerous, as 3 days have passed without electricity, water, or weak internet, which has severely affected our ability to provide basic care”.

Ghebreyesus added:” The continuous shooting and bombings in the area have exacerbated the already critical condition, and it is unfortunate that the number of deaths among the patients has increased significantly, and the hospital no longer functions as a hospital anymore”.

Ghebreyesus continued: “The world cannot stand silent while hospitals that should be safe havens turn into scenes of death, destruction, and despair. There must be an immediate ceasefire.”

The media office in Gaza announced that the occupation is bombing the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and wants to kill everyone in it, including children, women, patients, displaced persons, and the injured. Today, two premature babies, a patient in intensive care, and five wounded were martyred as medical teams were unable to save their lives, due to the running out of fuel, the power outage, and the stop of the operating rooms.
