Western Media Distorting Facts about Syria, Thereby Providing Assistance to Terrorism: Aleppo Governor

ALEPPO, (ST)- Most western media outlets are distorting facts about Syria, thereby providing both direct and indirect assistance to terrorism, Aleppo Governor Hussein Diyab said during his meeting on Friday with a Serbian media delegation visiting Syria.

The governor urged the Serbian delegation and other media outlets to convey the truth about what is going on in Syria to the entire world.

During the meeting, the governor explained the destruction caused to the city of Aleppo because of the terrorist war which has been targeting Syria for more than five years with huge support by western countries and some states in the region.

According to Diyab, the Syrian government is keen on providing all necessary services to all citizens, In addition, the Syrian army and supporting forces are fighting terrorism to defend the Syrians and restore security and stability to the country.

Diyab briefed the guest delegation on the suffering of Aleppo civilians because of the terrorist organizations’ crimes particularly during the past days during which the terror groups fired rockets on residential areas in Aleppo and prevented the locals of Aleppo eastern neighborhoods to leave the terrorist-held areas in order to use them as human shields.

On their part, the Serbian delegation voiced solidarity with the Syrian people against terrorism, pointing out that the Serbian people had suffered a lot from terrorism, thus they realize its danger and realize the need to establish cooperation among all countries of the world to confront and eliminate this dangerous phenomenon.

The Meeting was attended by the Charge de Affairs of the Embassy of the Serbian Republic in Damascus Milan Vigatovic
