Western Countries Practice Political Terrorism against Syria at UN: A-Jaafari

NEW YORK, (ST)- Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari has stressed that the western countries are practicing political terrorism against Syria at the UN.

In an interview with the Syrian “Ekhbariyya” TV Thursday evening via skype, al-Jaafari said “since the beginning of the terrorist war imposed on Syria, western countries and its allies have spared no effort to submit draft resolutions against Syria to the Security Council including drafts that have nothing to do with the agenda of the Security Council “. He reiterated that this hysteria will decline in the light of the defeats inflicted upon the terrorists in different parts of Syria.

He went on to say that sessions will continue to be held by the Security Council, UN General Assembly and other UN platforms on allegations about the use of chemical weapons  in Syria in order to blame the Syrian government as long as the Syrian Arab army achieves advances in the war on terrorism and in foiling the conspiracy hatched against Syria.

Al-Jaafari made it clear that Syria is the party which was behind introducing the item “the situation in the Middle East” into the Security Council with the purpose of discussing a solution to the Palestinian cause and an end the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan, but the Gulf states undermined this effort turned it into an item to talk against Syria.

He pointed out that passing some files relating to the crisis in Syria to the UN General Assembly for voting is nothing but a show for political blackmail and an attempt to defame Syria and put more media and humanitarian pressure on the Syrian government after the western countries failed to impose their agendas at the Security Council.

Al-Jaafari clarified that information indicate that the unipolar system has come to an end and has been replaced by a multi-polar system with the emergence of the Russian, Chinese and BRICS role in the light of bone breaking battles at the Security Council.
