Western countries have attempted to politicize the final statement of G20 summit: Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stressed that the behavior of western countries towards the Russian energy and food sectors negatively affect the developing countries.

In a press conference on the sidelines of the 17th G20 summit, which kicked off in the Indonesian city of Bali, Lavrov said that the West has placed obstacles in front of exporting Russian grain and fertilizers to other countries of the world, but “despite the sanctions we have exported 10 million tons of grain, particularly wheat, to Asia and Africa.

He slammed the weaponization of energy for settling political goals.

The Russian minister said that the western Countries have attempted to politicize the final statement of the G20 summit, stressing his rejection of any attempt to condemn Russia and calling on the G20 to abandon any discriminatory behavior in the field of energy.

He voiced his country’s concern over the Pentagon’s biological military activity in many countries, especially on the borders of Russia and China, noting that Russia will continue to seek establishing an international mechanism to monitor these activities.

He pointed out that the Russian military operation in Ukraine is not an aggression; rather, “it aims at defending our security”.
