Prague, (ST) – Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Committee in the Czech Chamber of Deputies, YerjeKobza, criticized Western attempts to politicize sport by preventing Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the Olympic Games scheduled for next year in Paris.
Kobza said in a post on his Facebook page: The United States was the first to politicize sports, and some European countries followed suit in this approach.
Kobza added that the problem facing these countries is in the fact that many Asian, African, Latin American and some European federations refuse to ban the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Olympic Games, because it is a discriminatory measure and poses an unjustified confusion between politics and sports.
