West Support for Terrorist Groups in Syria Must Stop

TEHRAN- Iranian Ambassador to London Hamid Baeedinejad renewed Iran’s stance on reaching a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis, and called on the western countries to stop their financial and logistic support for the terrorists in Syria, according to Fars news agency.

“Guaranteeing protection of the civilians in the Syrian crisis and halting financial and military supports for the terrorists in Syria has always been Iran’s policy,” Baeedinejad told reporters after meeting British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson in London on Thursday.

“I hope that the recent developments in Syria has proven to everyone that the crisis in Syria does not have a military solution and it is necessary that everyone should make efforts for the success of political process by the Syrian people themselves,” he added.

In relevant remarks on Wednesday, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani hailed the recent victories of the Syrian army against terrorist groups in the city of Aleppo and elsewhere, but meantime renewed Iran’s stance on reaching a political solution to the ongoing crisis in Syria.
