‘We will make Golan in the heart of Syria’ exhibition opens in Damascus

A symposium on the strategic importance of the Golan and its history was held Sunday in the Abo Remmaneh Cultural Center in Damascus following the opening ceremony of an exhibition entitled “We will make Golan in the heart of Syria’ in the same center.

The activity aims to reiterate that the Syrians will press ahead with their struggle to liberate the occupied Golan from the Israeli occupation after eliminating terrorism, according to the Deputy Minister of CultureTawfiq al-Imam, who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition that features documents during the Ottoman occupation and the Golan’s martyrs then.

A unique document unveils Israel’s plans in the Arab land, especially in the Golan, plus handicrafts and photos of the Quneitra people’s activities were featured in the exhibition, which will last till Thursday.

The documenter Yousef Brik Hnidi said that he collected all documents related to the Golan since its occupation in 1967. “The exhibition is being held in a retaliation for the Israeli government’s meeting in the occupied Syrian Golan on April 17th 2016”, he added.

On his part, the reporter Samir Abo Saleh declared that the exhibition focuses on some documents that show the Golan people’s rejection of the Israeli identity and their adherence to the national belongingness.

“There are also maps on the positions of the Israeli occupation in the Golan besides documents proving the Golan is part and parcel of Syria,” he clarified during the symposium.
