We will establish diplomatic relations with Syria soon, says Lugansk President

Lugansk, (ST) – The President of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, announced that his country will establish diplomatic relations with Syria soon.

In response to a question for the participants in a press tour organized by the Russian Defense Ministry to his country, Pasechnik emphasized that once negotiations are conducted on Syria’s recognition of the independence and sovereignty of the Lugansk People’s Republic, it is likely that we will start implementing this project soon.

“The Luhansk People’s Republic is very grateful to the Syrian people and their government for recognizing the republic,” Pasechnik added.

On the twenty-ninth of last month, Syria announced the recognition of the independence and sovereignty of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic, and that communication will be conducted with both countries to agree on enhancing relations, including establishing diplomatic relations in accordance with the established rules.
