CAIRO, (ST)- President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt has stressed his country’s support for the Syrian Arab Army in the battle against terrorist organizations, stressing the need to deal seriously with the terrorists and disarm them.
The Egyptian “Youm7” independent newspaper quoted al-Sisi as saying in an interview with the Portuguese TV broadcast on Tuesday that “our priority is to back the national army.. in Libya for instance, as to help regain control of the Libyan lands, fight the extremists and attain the hoped-for stability… The same thing can be applied to Syria…we back the Syrian army and the Iraqi army too.”
The Egyptian president reiterated that reaching political settlement in Syria has been the best way to solve the crisis, clarifying that it is necessary to deal seriously with the terrorists organizations and disarm them as well as preserving the territorial integrity of the Syrian lands and rebuild what the terrorist war has destroyed in the country.
On Monday, al-Sisi, in an interview with the Portuguese News Agency, urged forming a global union to fight terrorism and providing more support for the countries which are in a state of war with terrorist takfiri organizations and groups whatever their names are.
