We light candles of love, full of pride at Dr. Assad’s election as President of the Republic By Dr. Najah Al-Attar

Damascus (ST): A heartfelt homage to you, Mr. President, You have emerged from our ranks raised by the arms of love, trust and pride, a leader elected by a confident consensus. We look forward to you and with you to the next stage ,believing that the flame of struggle and sacrifices that you drew with your continuous struggle should remain glowing in our souls, and that the radiance of hope that you have instilled should haunt the struggle, whatever the pain of the wounds, and in the most difficult circumstances.

Mr. President,

You were the light in the heart of the darkness, emanating nobility and heroism, and the most honorable in sacrifices, in defense of our homeland, our people and our nation, living with us, and formulating our aspirations and hopes, and working to achieve them, and  consolidate our values , and do the best possible to achieve victory for our Arabism and its causes, and for the Palestine question, in order to ensure that it remains alive in reality and conscience.

You have put matters in their positions dictated by logic and history, and its facts, and led us in the national procession, with unique courage, anticipating the great goal of liberation and protection of sovereignty and the land, by sincere work not by word, and by a determination that has been guided by optimism

The banner of the free people will continue to fly over  our land, thanks to our president and leader, our protector  and the bearer of responsibility, with great courage and bravery during successive years of strenuous struggle, arduous steadfastness, great aspirations and eagerness to achieve victory.

President Bashar, you are the  beacon for continuous struggle , fulfilling the cherished aspirations of the homeland and the Arab nation.

May God protects you
