DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban has underscored that the threat of using force by the United State and the Western countries against Syria and its allies in the axis of counter-terrorism comes within the framework of psychological war and it reflects the failure of these countries’ tools after the Syrian Arab army’s victories in eastern Ghouta.
“I don’t think that this psychological war against Syria will lead to the result these countries seek in order to serve the terrorists defeated in eastern Ghouta, because the world is not an open filed for them anymore. Besides, there are other forces which have announced that they will retaliate if their allies were exposed to a strike,” Shaaban told al-Mayadeen TV tonight.
“We don’t want wars, but we don’t fear them and we are ready to face any war , particularly because the balance of powers and the rules of engagement have greatly changed in favor of Syria,” Shaaban said, pointing out that the situation in Syria is far better than before.
She went on to say that the Syrian army’s victory in Ghouta has been a turning point in the course of the global war on Syria and a defeat for the American-Zionist scheme to establish a “new Middle East”. This victory sends a messages to the world stressing that the Syrian Army and its allies are able to liberate every inch of the Syrian territory from the filth of terrorism and its supporters in the region, she pointed out.
Shaaban made it clear that some western and gulf states are still supporting, arming and financing terrorism in Syria aiming to undermine its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On the latest Israeli aggression on the T-4 airbase in Syria’s Homs countryside, Shaaban said that the Israeli occupation entity is the biggest beneficiary from what is going on in Syria. “It is relentlessly trying to prolong the war in Syria because it knows well that Syria’s victory today will change the map of the region and the world and will make Israel the biggest loser.
