Ways to activate economic cooperation between Aleppo and Greek cities discussed

Aleppo-(ST)- The heads and representatives of the Chambers of Industry, Tourism and Commerce in Aleppo discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Greek Embassy in Damascus, Nikolaos Protonarius, ways to enhance economic cooperation between Aleppo and Greek cities.

The head of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry Fares Al-Shihabi noted the importance of the meeting in term of exchanging views and ideas aimed at increasing areas of economic cooperation in all fields, and activating the Syrian-Greek Businessmen Council. He called for exchanging visits by economic delegations, and expertise to overcome obstacles and open broader horizons of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.

For his part, Protonarius expressed his happiness at visiting Aleppo and meeting with representatives of economic activities there, extending an invitation to Syrian businessmen to actively participate in developing economic relations amid the readiness of the Greek Embassy to provide them with all facilities and support.

In turn, the head of the Federation of Syrian Tourism Chambers Talal Khudair pointed to the Federation’s desire to benefit from Greece’s experience in the field of training specialized cader to compensate for the shortage in tourism personnel in Aleppo, because Greece is a tourism country par excellence and it possesses great experience in this field.

The meeting was attended by the Honorary Consul of Greece in Aleppo George Qatini.
