Wathiqat Watan, Omani Documents and Archives Authority organize the International Conference on Oral History on September 23
Damascus, (ST) – Jointly organized by Wathiqat Watan Foundation (Syrian Arab Republic) and the Documents and Archives Authority (Sultanate of Oman), the “International Conference on Oral History, “the Concept and Experience in the Arab World” will be held in the Omani capital Muscat on September 23.
The conference activities will continue for three days until September 25 with Arab and international attendance and the participation of academics and specialists representing institutions, bodies and documentation centers from Oman, China, Russian Federation, Iran, Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Tunisia, Palestine and Syria”.
In addition to participating in organizing the topics and sections of the conference, the Syrian Arab Republic will be represented during the days of the conference by a specialized academic and institutional delegation headed by the Founder and Head of the Board of Trustees of Wathiqat Watan Foundation, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban accompanied by members representing the institutions of tge Foundation, the Syria Trust for Development, the Ministry of Culture, Damascus University, and the Ministry of Information”.
The conference, which is held under the slogan “Oral History: A Cultural Memory of Origins and Deepening the Transtemporal Vision”, aims to study and develop the experience of oral history in the Arab world.
