The Hasakah branch of the General Establishment for Drinking Water has started pumping water to the city center after a 12- day hiatus because of the Turkish occupation’s crimes and its control of the water pumps operating inside Allouk Water Station.
Director of the Hasakah Water Establishment Mahmoud Okla told SANA reporter that the process of pumping the water was delayed because the Turkish occupation controls a number of pumps within Allouk station which consequently delayed filling the main tanks in the Allouk and Al-Himmeh water stations.
“Only one pump is operating now, while the normal situation necessitates the operation of 4 or 5 pumps,” added Okla.
The Turkish occupation’s continuous control of a number of water pumps will negatively affect water pumping towards Hasakah’s neighborhoods, as the tanks need more than 10 days to be filled,” he pointed out.
He stressed the need to increase the number of operating pumps and to intensify efforts to restore normal work situation in the Allouk water station, the only source of drinking water to more than a million citizens in Hasakah province.
