Washington will not be able to prevent the cooperation of African countries with Moscow, says Ugandan Ambassador

Moscow, (ST) – Uganda’s ambassador to Russia, Musa Kizige, stressed that the United States will not be able to prevent the cooperation of African countries with Moscow because these countries are sovereign and know how to take care of their interests.

“They will not succeed in preventing our cooperation with Russia,” the Ugandan ambassador said during an interview with Sputnik.

“The African countries have sovereignty, so the United States does not need to go in this direction and will not succeed”, Ugandan Ambassador added.

On the issue of building a nuclear power plant in Uganda, Kizige said that, this project has been halted due to the Corona virus, but an intergovernmental committee will soon be held in Kampala, where it will be discussed as a priority. He stressed that the presence of huge deposits of uranium in our country which are the largest in the world.

The Ugandan ambassador indicated that his country intends to start exporting oil and gas to interested countries in the next 15 years, and has started building the pipeline for this task.
