Washington (ST): The United States announced the possibility of reaching an agreement soon on Iran’s nuclear program, after understanding sticking points that are still unresolved.
US State Department deputy spokesman Galina Porter told AFP “The negotiators have made significant progress,”, adding, “We will not have an agreement unless the remaining issues are quickly resolved.”
In turn, the European Union coordinator for the talks, Enrique Mora, said the talks had reached the final stages, writing on Twitter: “Some relevant issues are still unsettled, success in resolving them is not guaranteed and certainly we are not there yet.”
In its discussions on reviving the nuclear agreement, Iran stresses the priority of lifting the sanctions that were imposed on it after the US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement, verifying this lifting in a practical way, and obtaining guarantees that the United States will not repeat this withdrawal.
