WASHINGTON -The US State Department has announced that President Donald Trump has authorized the release of approximately $6.6 million for the White Helmets, which is known of its close link to the terrorist groups in Syria.
State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement Thursday that the U.S. government “strongly supports” the White Helmets.
Recently, Trump’s administration announced it had ended funding for the White Helmets after its conspiring role in Syria was uncovered. The group acknowledged that it continued to receive funding from Turkey and Qatar which are involved in supporting terrorism in Syria.
The US support for this organization indicates Washington’s links to terrorist organizations, misleadingly called by the Americans as “opposition”, and used by them as a tool to implement their schemes.
The White Helmets was established in Turkey in 2013 with UK-US-Western funding. Its activities in the terrorist-held areas raised several question marks on its alleged “humanitarian work”, particularly as its individuals are affiliated to terrorist organizations and they appeared in some video shots while carrying machineguns and fighting within the ranks of the terrorists.
Several documents found by the Syrian Arab Army in the areas liberated from terrorism confirmed the White Helmets’ link to the terrorist organizations and their assistance for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists to prepare and promote the use of chemical weapons against the civilians with the aim of accusing the Syrian Arab Army, like what happened in eastern Ghouta.
According to Sputnik, Washington has been supporting the controversial NGO since 2013, but has recently stopped financing it, citing a need to “review government spending”. Moscow and Damascus have on multiple occasions drawn the international public’s attention to the fact that the White Helmets have been spotted working with terrorist groups like Al-Nusra Front.
The White Helmets have on numerous occasions been spotted working with Al-Nusra Front terrorist organization and other terrorist groups in Syria. The group claims that its mission is saving the lives of ordinary citizens and reporting about chemical attacks allegedly conducted by Damascus. However, the Russian Defense Ministry uncovered evidence and found witnesses suggesting that one of their latest reports about an alleged chemical attack in Douma was a fake.
