War on Terrorism Key Element of Resolving Crisis in Syria: Xiaoyan

TEHRAN, (ST)- China’s Special Envoy for Syria Xie Xiaoyan has stressed that  war on terrorism is the key element of resolving the crisis in Syria, pointing out that the continuity of the cessation of hostilities in Syria depends on eliminating terrorists

The Chinese envoy made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari  in Tehran.

The Chinese diplomat said Beijing seeks holding consultations and constant exchange of views with Iran on the crisis in Syria, calling for undertaking necessary measures to maintain the cessation of hostilities.

 On his part, Jaberi Ansari evaluated Astana talks as a positive measure aiming to speed up  the process of finding a political settlement in Syria through stabilizing the cessation of hostilities and attaining national reconciliations.
